With all the leading presidential candidates and their campaign teams currently touring the nook and crannies of the country ahead of the much-anticipated general elections In 2023, reactions have begun trailing a video showing the moment the flag bearer of the Labour Party (LP), Peter Gregory Obi was addressed by a lady with a hearing disability during his most recent town hall meeting with youths and students in Uyo, the Cross River State capital.
In the footage, which was shared by Labour Party spokeswoman, Nana Sani-Kazaure on her Twitter handle, the young lady is seen using sign language to ask Obi if his government will cater to persons living with disabilities should he be elected on the ballots in 2023.
Responding to the question, Obi is seen hugging the visibly emotional lady while explaining that the primary problem of the Nigerian governments and society is that they have failed to care for ordinary citizens let alone people living with disabilities.
Quite interestingly, the footage has drawn a lot of reactions from Nigerians online as many took to the comments section to share their thoughts.
While some persons agreed that people living with disabilities must be cared for in the country, others revealed that the empathy shown by Obi toward the young lady made them emotional.
